SWIMMING POOLS IN TUSCANY

Swimming pools are fairly common at country villa and farmhouses vacation rentals in Tuscany, but they are almost non-existent at town and village vacation accommodations. Where your holiday rental has a pool, it is likely to be open from mid-May to the end of September unless it's one of the extremely rare heated pools. Some pools are salt water. Where there are several vacation apartments for rent, the pool will be shared by all guests. If access to a swimming pool is important to you, and you are travelling out of the peak season, be sure to check the exact situation before finalising your booking.

Note that pools are almost never fenced in Tuscany. Young children should be watched carefully.

Public swimming pools are sometimes available and can be very good. There's an especially good public swimming pool at Greve in Chianti.
